wonder by R.J. Palacio

You can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.” The book wonder is a heart warming, beautiful story of a boy called August or “Augie” Pullman who was born with a face different from the other kids. He is about to start 5th grade and is having trouble making friends.┬áJulian Albans doesn’t like the way Augie looks so he starts to make fun of him by leaving notes in his locker or just saying mean things behind his back. A boy in Augie’s class called Jack Will sees that Julian is being mean to Augie and befriends Augie so that he is no longer bullied. Throughout this story you see friendships blossoming between Jack and Augie and it also shows parts of Augie’s sister’s “Olivia’s” life and how she copes when her friend from middle school doesn’t want to be friends with her anymore. Overall I rate this story of at 8.5 out of ten because gets the perspective of all of the characters in this story.
